Windows 10

Windows 10 patch was expected Tuesday, but wait until Thursday to release the first feature upgrade for the OS.

The roll out this week of Threshold 2 appears to be holding for a couple more days.  November Security patches are expected to roll out today (Nov 10, 2015) according to Computerworld.  However the major update to Threshold 2 will roll out November 12, 2015.

The fall update to Windows 10 (code named: Threshold 2) was issued last Thursday to insiders as Build 10586.  The release came without the Insider Watermark many have become accustomed seeing.  Other noted syntax items in the version number were spotted and compared to the Original roll out of Windows 10, that indicates that Build 10586 will be distributed as the promised Fall Update to Windows 10.

This Fall update will be the first wide scale test Windows 10’s maintenance mechanism as Microsoft will be updating approximately 132 million devices.  This also will be a test to how well the insider program is able to test the OS before the wider distribution.

Editor: Microsoft appears to have, had alot of issues as of late with the Cumulative updates.  If this product is going to succeed in the future this process will have to be updated and made to work much more seamless and with less fails and flaws.
