Well after HEARING rumors about Facebook requiring Government issued PHOTO ID verification of accounts. I’d never seen it and now am experiencing it. Well this morning my personal account got flagged, that this PAGE is attached to got HIT with one.
Facebook does have a process for allowing multiple other ID’s to PROVE who you are in the process. A link to the forms of ID that Facebook is accepting is located here: https://www.facebook.com/help/159096464162185?ref=cr
At this point I’ve submitting 2 forms of ID that I had to spend time BLOCKING IMPORTANT Personal DATA on to PROVE who I am. Good thing I’m versed a bit with a Photo editor or with a good piece of NON-SEE thru TAPE.
All of this is GOOD if your account has been taken over or hacked and you want to get it back and prove who you are. However this is NOT the case in my case. Facebook’s automated systems flagged my primary account as being linked to multiple accounts. Which I do have a login for my personal account and one of my Technojunkyard account. They are LINKED as well, via methods that facebook provides on both the front end of their site as well as the back end API programs.
During all of this something strikes me, as BAD. It is the lack of being able to REACH anyone REAL at the company that keeps all of this DATA and has KEPT years of my social interactions. Only method to contact this Social Media giant is via WEBSITE interaction and an automated process that really doesn’t do anything. No REAL person you can speak with regarding your CASE or issue.
Now mind you, I’ve maintained a Social Media presence on Facebook, both personally as well as via this Technology Website for a number of years. I’ve also READ much about how other countries have had to file privacy complaints against several of such companies in European countries.
At what point is having to turn over REAL ID to a website, to link your website or play a game… TOO MUCH. Is it the only way we can maintain our connection to friends and family?
So far my case has only been a few hours OLD, however we shall see how long this takes to resolve and what more hoops have to be jumped thru to RESOLVE the issues with FACEBOOK. BALL’s in YOUR COURT FACEBOOK.
One thing is certain, our privacy is no longer OURS it would seem we have to cough up REAL ID to prove we OWN IT.

Update: Day 2 of the Social Media Hostage outage with Facebook. So far NOTHING more than an automated response that we will look into it and get back to you. Attempted reach out to some individuals with ties to Facebook. So far NOTHING.
Update: Day 3 not a word from Facebook or any of their support agents. Sadly we had HEARD that this BLACKHOLE existed and had never experienced it. Will continue to attempt to gain access back to personal account. What is interesting is they went after a personal account. Not the LINKED business one. Which leads me to believe this is a NEW FORM of Cyberbullying.
Update: Day 7 finally a resolution. Now if I could get ahold of the BOZO that made the fail claim and see that they get similar treatment. I certainly HOPE that Facebook is better with disposing of ID than Yahoo is. Just ask Yahoo how that whole thing is going. It will be very surprising, if Yahoo doesn’t get sued before they get sold.
