Honda made history with their first ASIMO robot. Now, they have just unveiled their newest version of the ASIMO robot today. The bipedal robot can push a cart, run 9 kph, and has a much greater level of autonomous intelligence than before.

ASIMO is secretly a metalhead.

The all-new ASIMO can avoid collisions with people by predicting where they will walk. Also, coordination between its visual and auditory sensors enables ASIMO to simultaneously recognize multiple faces and voices.

The little 4-foot-3 wonder has improved dexterity over the previous model by leaps and bounds, easily walking over uneven surfaces, running about 5½mph, and even hopping on one leg. The tactile and force sensors in its palm and each finger allow it to grip a paper cup without crushing it and pour you your favorite beverage. Good to know you can shake its hand without it maiming you.
