Update: 01.04.12 Seems that some of the issues that users didn’t like have been addressed over the holiday break with the update. Awaiting word on how it’s working.
Well it seems a few weeks back it was touted as the iPad Killer. Some obviously like it others don’t.
Some of the drawbacks now being passed around about Amazon’s new darling the Kindle fire, include clumsy user interface, privacy issues and a lack of external volume control. Some parents are asking why there isn’t a parental rights control on it as well.
However Amazon is promising to address several issues with an updating, they say that is coming SOON. How soon? Amazon is saying in about 2 weeks an over-the-air update will be rolled out. Another version of the Kindle coming possibly as soon as spring 2012.
Amazon is allowing the unit to be sold right now at a loss many locations carrying the unit for $79.00 because even though they take a hit up front on the cost of the unit. After the purchase, the losses stop and consumption of paid content begin’s.
