Japan adds spy satellite to its network

Japan adds spy satellite to its network -msnbc.com.

MSNBC and Associated press report this morning that Japan has successfully launched a spy satellite aimed at being part of a network of intelligence gathering satellites due to be complete next year.

The launch occurred from the remote southern island of Tanegashima, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, or JAXA said it went off with out any issues.

Officials declinded to comment on the capabilities of the satellite however it is known that it is radar equiped and is expected to replace one of a pair it previously launched.  That had malfunctioned.  Each were equipped with simular radar intelligence gathering equipment.  That would allow allow Japan to know what is happening on the ground at night or through cloud cover.

Another launch is expected this next year.
