Russia will target U.S. missile shield in Europe if no deal is reached, Medvedev says – The Washington Post.
Othersources: Bloomberg
This mornings news appears the Russian’s just don’t seem to want to play ball with a European Missile Shield, it certainly appears we may be headed back to more of a cold war footing with the Russian’s. The Russian’s seem to be getting their fur ruffled with the missile shield as well as the Iranian issue as of late.
The few years they have experimented with Democracy also appears to be over as it’s nearly certain that the next President will again be Putin, who is much more of a hardliner than his predecessors.
Russia is also saying they will pull out of the new START treaty as well as they would be considering deploying more Missiles along their southern borders.
Update 11.23.2011 9:52am – In what appears a war of words at very least. The US has released a statement that it will NO LONGER provide Russia with Data on European Forces. Military.com has more details on this, update from the Associated Press.
