Kindle Fire review: Yes, it’s that good – Technolog.

Many wondered when Amazon stepped in to the Tablet arena if they would be able to produce a product that was capable of JOUSTING with the heavy weight in the arena Apple’s Ipad. The most recent review of the Kindle Fire, from MSNBC shows we may NOW have a prize fight on our hands. More and more tablets are coming to market almost daily it would seem. The tablet has become the hottest new must have gadget on the planet. Many of us have been left wondering who would dominate the market. So far it’s been all Apple. The Fragmented Android platform hasn’t seemed like REAL competition for the Ipad. Many of the Android tablets being released near the same price as the Ipad, with lack luster support. Buyers have avoided rushing to them as a solution. The Android platform suffers from a clear direction and a centralized and uniform system for purchase of Apps and products. Note I’m a HUGE fan of open source but setting up centralized portals or stores to buy your Apps, Music, Books or Movies just makes sense. This has left the Android platform vulnerable.
In it’s review MSNBC says the Kindle Fire is the clear competition and at $199 price point MANY will sell and fast. Amazon has kept on target and on focus and come well below the prices of the lowest cost Ipad 2 and with a GREAT Product. Amazon has long been a great portal for Music, Books and Entertainment, this expansion into the Tablet market is a GREAT move for them.
As this heats up only one good thing can come out of it. Lower prices on our favorite products, and more choice in the expanding market. Great for the consumer.
Several analyst’s today are predicting that if Apple can’t lower it’s prices on the Ipad 2 it will loose the Christmas 2011 race. Rumors of Ipad 3 ramping up, who knows what they may have in stores next year.
Update: Added Wired.com’s review as well… Looks like we have a HUGE hit on our hands time to check one out.
