Google Allows Wi-Fi Owners to Opt Out of Database – NYTimes.com.

Well I for one have been protecting my Wireless networks with passwords for years now adding _nomap to the end of the SSID to keep Google from listing them. Ummm.. Yeah that’s a NO Brain-er.
However I’m POSITIVE that this will be changing in future routers. A check box to allow or NOT allow routers from being listed will be added to the security fields and you won’t have to deal with the _nomap. So a new crop of routers will get sold and DDWRT, Tomato and the firmware writers will have to update their software to accommodate that.
