So you get a call from family or friend asking you to HELP!!  Their computer is infected, running slow or generally misbehaving.  Are you capable of driving BLINDFOLDED?  You don’t have to when fixing a computer remotely either.

Team Viewer – User Friendly approach to getting assistance from a friend to help fix a issue on a computer.  Give your friend the ID and password and your connected securely and safely.

Microsoft added Remote Desktop (RDP client and server software) all of it’s versions of the OS that are NOT HOME versions, since windows XP. For some it isn’t the easiest for  to use and offer’s no security in protection when making this connection.  As well as leaving an Remote Port Open isn’t BEST practice when trying to secure someone’s computer from outside attacks.

Microsoft also provides Remote Invitations, this is the method they offer on their HOME versions of the OS from XP and above.  Again, this is NOT the easiest thing to use and many times folks have issues with mailing the invite around or getting it sent.
