What is Hour of Code
It’s a one-hour introduction to computer science education designed to demystify code and show that anyone can learn the basics — on a browser, smartphone, or “unplugged”. The online tutorials won’t require any prior experience.
Why does it matter?
Computer science is a foundational skill for all students, yet most schools don’t teach it, or make it fun and engaging. Students don’t get a chance to find their passion for coding.

How can you help?
Ask your local school to participate — share this handout (PDF) and video with local teachers
Offer your expertise to a school in your area that is already signed up. Teachers will love to have you talk about a career in tech to their students.
Participate yourself (or with your child). Set aside one hour to learn, during Dec. 9-15
Sign up to participate at hourofcode.com, and visit back on Dec 9.

Let’s make history.
Dice is joining Microsoft, Google, Apple, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and over 100 others on this unprecedented initiative. You found your passion for tech, help us build the same excitement for the next generation. Register now at hourofcode.com.
