UK based #Canonical made it’s first appearance at #CES, and as promised brought something cool along with them.  #Ubuntu TV.The company promising in it’s marketing to make TV easy and fun again for the home audience.  It is the latest in announcements for Smart TV’s.

Canonical has promised that , “Ubuntu TV is a vision of how TV will work in the future. With no cables, no boxes and no hassles, the goal is to uncomplicated television for the average viewer while delivering to him or her all the services and options that they are becoming used to”.

The firm also announced, announced a merger Ubuntu TV and smartphones running #Android, #iOS or #Ubuntu.  The so-called “second screen” seems to be the rage at CES. Canonical says their new service can “link phones or tablets to Ubuntu TV, presenting related content to viewers while they watch. [It can] provide information on movies by the same director, for example, or the reaction on #Twitter during live shows – without any distraction from the action”.
